    Il Venezuela non è periferia.
    È frontiera.
Per i BRICS è ciò che la Germania dell' Est e la Polonia furono per l’Unione Sovietica:
il luogo dove l’ordine globale smette di essere teorico
    e diventa conflitto reale.

  3. Statement bythe Chinese Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Lin Jian — Regular Press Conference, January 5, 2026

“China is deeply shocked by and strongly condemns the U.S.’s blatant use of force against a sovereign state and forcible seizure of its president. Such hegemonic acts of the U.S. seriously violate international law and Venezuela’s sovereignty, and threaten peace and security in Latin America and the Caribbean region. China firmly opposes it.”
“We call on the U.S. to abide by international law and the purposes and principles of the UN Charter, and stop violating other countries’ sovereignty and security.”
“China calls on the U.S. to ensure the personal safety of President Nicolás Maduro and his wife, release them at once, stop toppling the government of Venezuela, and resolve issues through dialogue and negotiation. China supports the UN Security Council in holding an emergency meeting to discuss the U.S. military strikes on Venezuela and supports the Council in playing its due role according to its mandate. We stand ready to work with the international community to firmly defend the UN Charter, the fundamental principles of international justice, and international fairness.”

  4. Statement by the Russian Foreign Ministry on the situation in Venezuela

“We strongly urge the American leadership to reconsider its position and release the lawfully elected president of a sovereign country and his wife.
Reports that Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro and his wife were forcibly removed from Venezuela by U.S. military action are deeply troubling and cause serious concern and condemnation.
The pretexts used to justify such actions are untenable, and this aggressive use of force against an independent state constitutes an unacceptable encroachment on its sovereignty.
Russia calls for the situation to be clarified without delay, urges restraint to prevent further escalation, and stresses that issues of this nature should be resolved through diplomacy, not armed intervention.”

    Additional Russian commentary in English

Russian officials, including Dmitry Medvedev and other senior lawmakers, described the U.S. military strike and capture of Maduro as “unlawful,” “destabilizing,” and “a direct act of military aggression” against Venezuela.

Moscow emphasized solidarity with the Venezuelan people and reiterated that Latin America must remain a zone of peace, rejecting external interference.
